Working with television editing lately has given me a stroke of insight to do something I’ve always wanted to do- create a music video as an advertisement/tribute to Late Night Elites. Last night I finally got the spark of inspiration I needed.
…okay, that wasn’t the inspiration, honest! But anyway, what will be set up is a post in the General section of our guild forums, as I’ll need a little help from you all too to put this together. I’ve even gotten a professional to sing the lyrics for us, so you may have heard the tune before, but the song will be brand new, just for us! (No sneak peeks about it just yet. Surprises!)
Anyway, I want everyone in LNE to be a part of this, so everyone will get a cameo (even those with inactive accounts thanks to armory profile and sprite editing)- so get over to the forums and gimme input.

Meanwhile! I had this whole thing typed up, but I lost it, so I’m gonna give ya’ the short version:

Raiding

25 man raids- 5-6 pieces of loot per boss at least. (50%+ boost)
10 mans getting harder. That means 25 man is going to be the easier of the two, logistics-wise.
But! Say Monday rolls around and we only have 20 people on and still raiding to do…
…we can split our 25 man ID up into 2 (or up to 3) 10 mans and continue from that point.
Do note that you can’t merge 10 mans up to 25, only break them down. Consider that a last ditch raiding effort only to be used if we’re wrapping up the week.

Guild Talents

No more guild talent trees- but guilds are still getting talents! Guilds can be leveled up to 25, gain perks as they go along, and having ‘legacy’ achievements will help us. That is, all our past accomplishments as seen by achievements players have will be added to the guild achievement card, experience gained, and just all that jazz.
This system also gives out things to sell to the guild that are guild related, like mounts with the guild tabard flag flying from them… which brings me to another point. I think I’m going to hold a guild tabard/logo contest soon. More on that later!
Though I should have had fraps running, I didn’t want to do anything that would slow down my performance for our first kill. But if we did have a video, I imagine it would have went a little something like this…
Anyway, well done everyone. You guys really put in the effort to kill him, every last one of you, even those not in this kill, deserve this win!
While we’re now face to face with the Lich King (let’s see how far we can get him down this week!), there’s still a lot of news coming out from Blizzard via Cataclysm. One of the biggest things is the impact to raiding- 10 and 25 mans are being ‘merged’. You can only do one or the other during a week, and they drop the same loot- but because they will both be the same difficulty.
Sure, there’s a lot of pitchforks rising and torches lighting over this change, but 25 man raiding will still be as strong as ever for Late Night Elites. For one, more loot will drop in 25 man, to the point that Blizzard says it will be quicker to gear up doing 25 mans than doing 10 mans. So there’s your incentive right there! Secondly- since the difficulty of 10 and 25s will be matched, that means either 10 mans are getting harder, or 25 mans are getting easier. Either way it’s status quo, or a win, for us.
Another topic I want to bring up- your mains (main character). Since we will have to level up to 85, this leaves opportunity for some of you to switch your main character/class, or main spec. Now, we still need our limit of tanks and healers and can’t break a balance… and certainly we will need a decent performance from whoever you play. But if this is something that has been on your mind, Cataclysm will be the chance to do it. More details on that when the expansion actually comes.

Catching up on news here, vile yetis and gnome-defiled demons both bite the dust as we press on through the Grand Trial, heroic mode style. Also another step closer to Algalon as we rain down death upon Steelbreaker and his iron buddies. Kuroken puts some style on the bottom picture there.
We owe our long life thanks to Helvyra draining power from the World Tree and– wait…
Still, we’ve all come a long way, and we’re all working really hard to progress! Keep up the good work everyone, and happy 3rd birthday.

It’s a bit late, but in honor of being the first Hordeside team to slay the beasts in heroic mode, and thanks to some friends at Blizz, we’re going to hold a yeti screenshot contest! Any guild member can participate. The rules are simple: take an in-game screenshot of something involving… yetis. Any sort of scenario will do. Best screenshot wins an code for a Grunty the Murloc pet!
